PROGRAM: Baltimore Antique Arms Show Marine Corps Exhibit
DATE: 19-20 March 2011
LOCATION: Maryland State Fair Grounds, Timonium, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: As part of the annual Arms Show the USMCHC will present and interactive exhibit “The Marines in Korea, 1871 to 1951”, which will follow Marine Corps' involvement and intervention on the Korean panincila from the landing at Incheon in 1871 to the Korean War in the 20th century. The Antique Arms Show is open to the general public through the Maryland Arms Collectors Association.
APRIL
PROGRAM: Battleship North Carolina “70th Anniversary of the Ship's Christening, and Veterans Reunion”

LOCATION: USS North Carolina Memorial, Wilmington, NC
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Thursday (7 April) and Friday (8 April) the Marine Corps Historical Company will present ongoing exhibits, demonstrations, and talks focusing on “Seagoing Marines” aboard Capital Ships during WW2 to visiting public school groups and the general public. On Saturday (9 April) the Marines will be part of a living history style program aboard the Battleship and provide ceremonial details for the Ship’s Veterans Reunion, and 70th Anniversary celebration of the Christening of the Battleship. All programing is open to the general public through the Battleship Memorial.

LOCATION: Ft. McHenry National Historical Park, Baltimore, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company, as part of a major living history based National Park Service 150th Anniversary program commemorating the beginning of the American Civil War. The program will revolve around the incarceration of the Maryland State Legislature at Fort McHenry, which was garrisoned by a small detachment of U.S. Marines, during the opening days of the Civil War. Included will be ongoing and scheduled living history demonstrations, exhibits, tours, and lectures focusing on the opening of the Civil war in Maryland. All programing is open to the general public through the National Park Service.
PROGRAM: “Technology's Impact on Leadership and Tactical Doctrine.”

LOCATION: Small Arm Range, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A structured two hour lecture and demonstration program developed for the Naval Academy focuses on the development of military small arms technology and its impact on small unit leadership and tactical doctrine. The class include live firing of vintage weapons of all eras. This is a closed training program offered through the Academy History Department. Only selected Midshipmen and invited guests may attend. Contact the USMCHC Public Affairs Office for information.

PROGRAM:“ Marine Corps Small Arms: The impact of technology on our society.”

LOCATION: Parkville High School, Baltimore, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A lecture and demonstration program developed for Baltimore County Public Schools, the hour long class focuses on a study of the impact of military technological development on industry, economics, and social development in American society. Although presented as a High School program, The class is held outside and may be attended by the public.
PROGRAM: “ The Marines at the Battle of 1st Manassas”

LOCATION: Old Manassas Court House, 9248 Lee Ave., Manassas, VA
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A moment in Marine Corps history that is often overlooked or misinterpreted is the involvement of the U.S. Marines at the Battle of First Bull Run (Manassas), VA, at the beginning of the American Civil War. Much has been written about the Generals and the grand strategies, but little has focused on those nameless souls in the ranks, whose courage and actions ultimately determine whether engagements are won or lost. Although considered a Federal military defeat, the ethos, courage, discipline, and leadership demonstrated by those Marines at Manassas, can be compared with those at Bladensburg, MD during the War of 1812, and at Chosin, Korea a century later. Their conduct and actions would reflect the very foundation upon which our Corps is built.” The lecture follows the actions of those Marines during the first major battle of the American Civil War. The lecture series is open to the general public through the Prince William County, VA, Parks and History.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: As part of the annual Armed Forces Day celebrations in Greenville, SC the USMCHC will present and interactive exhibit which will follow the Marine Corps’ history form 1775 through the Vietnam War.
PROGRAM:“ The Marines and Monocacy” The legacy between the historic site, the battle, and the U.S. Marines

LOCATION: Monocacy National Battlefield, Frederick, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company, working in partnership with the National Park Service will present a multifaceted program celebrating the Armed forces day and the ties between the U.S. Marines, the historic site, and the local community. Although Marines did not participate in the famous Civil War battle on 9 July 1864, there is an inseparable bond between the Marines and that moment in history, from the newly commissioned USS Monocacy supporting Marine landing operations in Inchon Korea in 1871 to numerous native Fredericktonians serving in the Corps throughout our history. Planned activities include extensive interactive exhibits covering the uniforms and weapons of the Marines from 1775 to today, and the ties between the name Monocacy and the US Marines. All programing is open to the general public through the National Park Service.
JUNE
PROGRAM: Veterans Appreciation Day

LOCATION: Mt. Airy, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A day of activities including historic demonstrations, lectures, exhibits and a wide range of other activities being presented for visiting veterans and wounded worriers from all conflicts and their families. This program is open to the general public.
PROGRAM: Marine Corps JROTC leadership Camp.

LOCATION: Camp Baker Maryland National Guard Base
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This week long camp was developed for the Baltimore County Public Schools Marine JROTC Program. The various courses, taught by Active Duty Marine instructors from the USMCHC, will range from rappelling and high angle rigging, to land navigation, field craft, first aid, and LRC problem solving to name a few. Heavy emphasis will be placed on teaching such intangibles as leadership, team work, and self confidence and discipline. This camp is open to Marines JROTC Students only. Preregistration is required.
JULY
PROGRAM: “The Battle of 1st Manassas,”NPS 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War Program

AUGUST
PROGRAM: “History and Traditions Brief.” USNA Midshipmen Program
DATE: 15 August 2011 (Tentative Date)
LOCATION: US Naval Academy, MD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A motivational program presented to new inductees (Plebes) to the Naval Academy. The Brief follows the battle history of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1775 to today. The program is presented as part of “Plebe Summer” and is open to Academy Midshipmen and staff and visitors to the Naval Academy.
PROGRAM: “National Museum of Americans in Wartime Open House”
DATE: 20-21 August 2011
LOCATION: VMMV (Cors Ranch), Nokesville, VA
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company will provide a series of demonstrations focusing on the tactics and weapons (including flame throwers) of the mid 20th century, along with an extensive exhibit focusing on the Marine Infantryman through the 20th century. The program is part of an open house provided at the Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles, supporting the new Museum of Americans in Wartime.
SEPTEMBER
PROGRAM: “Defenders Day: The War of 1812 in Maryland”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company, as part of a major living history based program celebration titled “Defenders Day” commemorating the battle of Baltimore in 1814, will present ongoing and scheduled living history demonstrations (including Naval Artillery), exhibits, and lectures focusing on the U.S. Marines in the War of 1812. All programing is open to the general public through the National Park Service.
OCTOBER
PROGRAM: Anniversary of the John Brown Raid: “All Things Marine: Harpers Ferry and the U.S. Marines.”

LOCATION: Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, WV
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company, working in conjunction with the National Park Service will present a multifaceted program celebrating the Annivercery of the Marine involvement in the famous John Brown Raid, and the ties between the U.S. Marines and Harpers Ferry (Arsenal) from its beginnings. Planned activities include exhibits on the development of small arms, tours and talks of the Marine involvement in the John Brown Raid and the Civil War, and Marine Band concerts. All programming is open to the general public through the National Park Service.
